A man in a hat bent down to pick up a penny, a penny that one day belonged in someone else’s pocket. He had never believed in lucky pennies, but maybe he was desperate that morning.

He noticed her, but prentended not to.
She ordered a cold drink.
He stood up and moved towards her, but -
She picked up her drink and turned to leave.
He let her.
